Personal outreach

You can start reaching out to people right away, or call/text them during our kickoff event:

Monday, April 7, 2025

6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Tukes Taphouse in Battle Ground. Please RSVP to votebgschools@gmail.com.

Step 1. Contact 5 people (or however many you want) whom you know personally (friends, family members, neighbors) and share the following talking points:

  • Proposition 9 replaces the expiring levy. It asks for only what is needed to maintain the programs and services that support students and provide resources to continue responding to student needs.

  • If you own a $600K home, you would pay an estimated $14-$17 more per month. Due to new construction in the area, you may pay less.

  • I want kids to continue to have opportunities. That’s why I’m voting yes.

  • Your ballot is due by April 22. No matter how you feel, the most important thing is to vote.

Bonus: Encourage them to reach out to people they know.

Step 2. Follow up with them starting April 11 to see if they have returned their ballot. Continue until their ballot has been turned in.

Step 3. Once they have returned their ballot, tell them how they can ensure that it was counted.

  • Go to voter.votewa.gov and check the status.

  • If the ballot was accepted, they do not need to do anything further.

  • If their ballot has any of the following codes, watch for a letter, phone call, text and/or email from the Clark County elections office.

    • Unsigned

    • Signature does not match

    • ID required

    • Other than voter

    • Power of attorney

  • It’s important to respond to the elections office by 4 p.m. on May 1. After that, the ballot will not be counted.
